With the money stops coming and going in this Cup Series race at Bristol, Carson Hocevar was in his stall for 22 seconds. That is an eternity on NASCAR pit road. It put him a lap down from the leaders.

Ryan Blaney is running long and has lapped everyone at least once. Carson Hocevar was part of the group that went to pit road, starting with the Joe Gibbs Racing cars. He didn’t come off of pit road with that group, though.

Instead, Hocevar is not just one but two laps down. Once the race shuffles itself out, leaders like Larson, Denny Hamlin, and others will be on the lead lap, and Hocevar will still be a lap down.

“Can I get some info on where the f*** I’m at?” Hocevar asked over the radio, via Steven Taranto of CBS Sports. He was anything but happy with his team.

Today was great for Carson Hocevar until it wasn’t. The botched pit stop cost him a top-10 and likely a top-5 finish at Bristol. He had great qualifying speed, and he and teammate Justin Haley were set to give Spire a great 1-2 punch wherever they finished.

You have to credit Hocevar for making it back up to P11. Still, missing out on his first top-10 finish since Atlanta is a hard pill to swallow. A fast car and a great day ruined by one pit stop. But that’s how these races go in the Next Gen car.

This Spire organization keeps putting fast cars on the track. They just need things to line up for an entire race.

Carson Hocevar doesn’t know to ‘cry or laugh’

This team has had struggles this season. Even though they have had speed at multiple tracks this season, it doesn’t always show up in the final results. Today was one of those days for Carson Hocevar.

Always vocal on social media, Hocevar was on there right after the race. He wasn’t sure how to react to his day. He’s going to put his head down and return to the track in two weeks, though.

“[I don’t know] if I cry or laugh. But I do know I am proud of our speed and our team to bring that good of quality of race car,” Hocevar posted on X/Twitter.

Carson Hocevar is a fast, young driver. He will be running in the top-10 a few more times this season before it is over. Who knows, he could sneak a win away from these wily veterans before it is all said and done, too.
