Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is one of the great, young, exciting wide receivers in the NFL. No one will ever doubt that he has the confidence in himself to be great, recently comparing himself to Cooper Kupp of the Los Angeles Rams.

It’s a bold comparison to make if you’re CeeDee Lamb, as Kupp is arguably the best wide receiver in the game today. Coming off a Super Bowl-winning season, where Kupp had nearly 2,000 yards receiving over the course of the season.

“I’m not too far off, honestly. That’s personally how I feel. I feel like I can literally be one of the best receivers in this league,” CeeDee Lamb said.

The two players had notably different journeys to the NFL. CeeDee Lamb was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2017 and went to Oklahoma, where he was a star. Meanwhile, Cooper Kupp was overlooked coming out of high school and ended up at Eastern Washington, an FCS school. Eventually, Kupp became a third-round pick in the NFL Draft, while Lamb went in the first round.

Since he got to the NFL, CeeDee Lamb has been a good wide receiver for the Cowboys. He even went to the 2021 Pro Bowl. However, he hasn’t been close to as productive. Right now, Cooper Kupp is a borderline MVP player from the wide receiver position.

CeeDee Lamb has great potential, but most people will think the Cooper Kupp comparisons are premature.
