After an impressive three-year career with the Alabama Crimson Tide, linebacker Christian Harris has heard his name called in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Houston Texans traded with the Denver Broncos and selected Harris with the No. 75 overall pick in the third round.

The team released a video on Saturday showing the moment general manager Nick Caserio and head coach Lovie Smith informed Christian Harris the Houston Texans planned to submit the pick.

“We’re going to turn the pick in here,” said Caserio. “We’re going to make you a Houston Texan here in a minute. So congratulations. Look, we’ve got a one-stop shop between you and your buddy (John) Metchie.”

As he informed Harris he would pass the phone to Smith, he informed the room that the linebacker was crying on the other end of the line. “He’s so thrilled,” Caserio said.

“Christian, how about it, man?” said Smith. “You’re going to fit in perfectly here.”

After finishing the phone call, those in the war room shared a round of hugs after experiencing how emotional their newest player was to find out his fate.
