The Bearcats, the No. 11 seed, defeated West Virginia in the opening round. The Jayhawks had a bye and the winner will take on No. 3 Baylor in the quarterfinals.

Let’s dive into the odds and how to watch for a Big 12 Tournament nightcap!

Odds for Cincinnati vs. Kansas

Cincinnati is the betting favorite at -2.5, which could come as a surprise on paper, per FanDuel Sportsbook. If you want to bet the moneyline, Cincinnati is -142 while Kansas is +118.

If you want to bet the total, it’s listed at 140.5, so the game might not be as high scoring as anticipated.

BPI Predicted winner: Kansas
BPI Predicted point differential: 7.4
BPI Win probability (for Washington): 75.9%
BPI Matchup Quality: 83.4

ESPN’s BPI is a model designed to provide a statistical comparison between two teams and predict future success. Here, ESPN vastly disagrees with the betting line. Kansas is over a seven-point favorite over Cincinnati and has more than a 75% chance to win the game and advance.

The matchup quality is over an 83, which is good for the fifth best game of a loaded Wednesday slate.

KenPom Predicted final score: Kansas wins 73-70
KenPom Win probability (for Kansas): 61%

KenPom is another predictive system for college basketball. It’s designed to show how strong a team is at a given time, without taking factors like injuries into account. Cincinnati is only a favorite against Kansas in the eyes of Vegas.

KenPom listed Kansas as a favorite but the game is expected to be much closer based on their metrics.
