Despite a couple of late restarts, Cole Custer wins the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship at Phoenix. His first series championship. By the end of this race, our Championship 4 had all made their way to the front. It was a battle between all four drivers to the finish.

This race came down to an overtime restart. Cole Custer, John Hunter Nemechek, Justin Allgaier, Sam Mayer were all right there on the front two rows. A shootout for a shot at NASCAR history! This is what championships are made of.

Custer came back to the Xfinity Series after three years in the Cup Series and now he’s walking away as a champion. He had come so close in the past, but now he’s finally on the top of the Xfinity Series.

The final restart was one HELL of a finish.

A major championship for Stewart-Haas Racing. They had come so close in the past. Now they are champions. Despite what went on with the Cup Series team, Tony Stewart will take home a NASCAR championship as an owner this weekend.

Cole Custer stayed calm, cool, and collected all night long. What more could you ask for out of your championship driver? Interestingly enough, this is Custer’s first oval win of the season. He had won at Portland and Chicago, but now he’s won at Phoenix and taken home the Xfinity Series championship.

Compared to the show we got last night in the Craftsman Truck Series, this was a great show. we had clean, aggressive racing throughout the field. The setup on these Xfinity cars is just perfect right now, great racing all season long.

At times, it looked like John Hunter Nemechek would win. Sam Mayer had some good runs. Justin Allgaier had an early mistake and then had to move up through the field over the course of the race. Allgaier finished P3, Mayer P5, and Nemechek was P28 after a final lap crash.

Looking back on this season, it was a good one in the Xfinity Series. Nemechek had seven wins on the year, but couldn’t close the deal. You can’t be upset about it, but in the moment I’m sure Nemechek and his team are feeling down.

Despite having perhaps the quietest playoff run out of the Championship 4, Cole Custer gets the job done. He is the 2023 Xfinity Series champion.
