The Buffalo Bills were one penalty away from beating the Denver Broncos on Monday night but the cookie crumbled in favor of the visiting team. The 24-22 loss, which brought the Bills to 5-5, and the way that it occurred had Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs advocating for change. Specifically, the injured DB tweeted about getting No. 14 (his brother, Stefon Diggs) out of Buffalo.

It’s not the first time the younger Diggs brother has called for Stefon to make an exit from the Bills. At the beginning of the season, Trevon posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Tuh! They turn on you so quick. Gotta get bro somewhere safe,” after a reporter was heard on a hot mic criticizing his interactions with the media.

The former Maryland star received just five targets in the loss to the Broncos on Monday. He caught three passes for 34 yards, which is a season-low for the Bills’ top wideout. He hasn’t had a 100-yard receiving game since mid-October against the Giants.

“He had what? Three catches last night? In a game they ended up losing,” former coach Jeff Saturday said on Get Up on Tuesday morning. “I’m just telling you, I’ve been in the huddle and it gets real frosty. Really frosty, all of a sudden it’s chilly. The receiver doesn’t want to talk to the QB, the QB doesn’t want to talk to the receiver. Everybody’s upset. Then you win, and everybody loves each other.”

“If the Bills continue to lose and they miss the playoffs, there’s absolutely a strong possibility that he will want to, and succeed, in getting himself elsewhere next year,” NFL insider Dan Graziano added.

Stefon Diggs airs out frustrations

Diggs has had several of his own viral moments that raised eyebrows about his status in Buffalo. In a playoff loss to the Bengals last season, cameras caught the receiver yelling at quarterback Josh Allen. Diggs then vacated the locker room before the press conferences started.

Fans also scrutinize the wideout’s social media posts. One controversial tweet came in April when he posted “Comeeeeee anddddd rescue me…”

Diggs signed a four-year deal for $96 million in the 2022 offseason, which means he’s locked in with the Bills until the end of the 2027 season. This season, he has 73 catches for 868 yards and seven touchdowns. Compared to the league’s leaders, he’s fifth in total yards, but 10th in receiving yards per game.
