Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons took to social media on Monday to react to the shocking free agency moves that occurred on the first day of open negotiations. After seeing his own starting running back Tony Pollard make his exit for the Tennessee Titans, Parsons got the news that Giants running back Saquon Barkley is staying in the NFC East to play with the Philadelphia Eagles.

“sickening,” Parsons wrote on X with laughing emojis.

The Cowboys star has always advocated for his fellow Nittany Lions alum to get paid, and he definitely is with his new Eagles deal. Barkley is reportedly inking for three years, $37.75 million with $26 million guaranteed. It’s as good of a deal as the former Giants weapon could hope for amid the current trend of devaluing running backs.

Last offseason, Parsons wanted to see the Giants pay Barkley instead of, first, placing the tag on him, then negotiating a deal of similar value.

“The scheme on Monday morning is we [will] not let SAQUON BARKLEY BEAT Us!! People just think we be out here playing free for all!!” Parsons tweeted with laughing face emojis. “Like gtfo! That mf is that offense! Pay him!”

During the 2023 season, Barkley rushed for 962 yards in 14 games with six touchdowns. He also had 41 receptions for 280 yards and four touchdowns. He was coming off of a 1,300-yard season in 2022.

Tony Pollard leaving Dallas Cowboys after five season

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard is reportedly signing a new three-year deal to head to the Tennessee Titans ahead of the free agency window on Wednesday, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. Pollard is signing the three-year deal with a value of $24 million, per Adam Schefter.

He served as the team’s starting running back for the second straight season after the departure of Ezekiel Elliott but Dallas made it clear they’d be willing to let him walk after tagging him for 2023. The Cowboys drafted Pollard with the 26th pick in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

In 2023, the former Memphis standout was coming off of a high-ankle sprain, which required surgery, and a fibula fracture. He reached 1,000 rushing yards for the second consecutive season but only topped 100 yards in a single game once during the regular season. He also had just six touchdowns, down from 12 last season. As a team, the Cowboys ranked 14th in the NFL in total rushing yards, led by Pollard and Rico Dowdle.
