The Dallas Cowboys were missing All-Pro linemen Zack Martin, Tyler Biadasz and Tyron Smith on Sunday in the loss against the Cardinals and their absence was apparent. With the Patriots coming to AT&T Stadium in just a handful of days, the biggest concern for the now 2-1 squad is whether the offensive line can finally put the best five on the field.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones addressed the trio’s status during a radio interview to start the week.

“It’s possible, but we’ll just have to see how the week goes,” Jones said on 105.3 the Fan.

“You’ve just got to take each guy week to week,” he added. “We know how Zack Martin is — he rarely misses anything and is always available. Tyron is working through something with his knee, so all of those things are something we monitor as the week goes.

“Is it possible? Yes. Do we know for sure? Absolutely not.”

Missing three of the five starting linemen on Sunday, the line allowed two sacks on quarterback Dak Prescott. It also gave up five tackles for loss.

Martin is dealing with an ankle injury that saw him exit the Week 2 win over the Jets before the end of the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Smith was a late addition to the injury report and though he warmed up on Sunday, he ended up watching the loss from the sidelines.

Center Tyler Biadasz could be a scratch again this week after he suffered a hamstring injury that required an MRI on the same day the team lost Trevon Diggs to an ACL tear.

Prescott calls Week 3 loss ‘humbling’

After looking absolutely dominant through the first 2 weeks of the season and outscoring opponents 70-10, the Dallas Cowboys suffered a tough loss falling to the Arizona Cardinals 28-16 on Sunday.

Some were regarding Dallas as the best team in the league given their hot start, but conversely, the Arizona Cardinals were regarded by many as the worst team in the league heading into the year. Prescott spoke following the loss and opened up about the expectations for his team.

“Y’all put us on top of the world,” said Prescott. “We knew who we are. In that same sense, I’m sure the media got what it wanted. For us, there hadn’t been but one undefeated team. It sucks, it’s humbling, but to say it’s a wake-up call, we knew we had a lot of adversity and we just didn’t get it done. It just goes back to myself, the offense, in the red zone. We get better there, we win this game. But we’ve got to fix that area, period.”

Prescott finished the game with 249 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Dallas’ 13 penalties and Arizona’s ability to dominate on the ground and make timely plays allowed them to pull off the win as 11-point underdogs.

“We’re staying in the moment. That’s who we are. That’s who this team is,” said Prescott. “This was a humbling loss in that sense. Obviously, we’ve had a lot of adversity just throughout the week. It wasn’t easy. Nobody’s making excuses. I thought we had a great opportunity to come in and, even with the adversity, get a win. Obviously, every week you’ve got to reset and refocus, and honestly, it’s a little bit easier after a loss. So, there’s not going to be any worries about that.”
