WATCH: Cowboys tight ends win Thanksgiving with Salvation Army kettle whack-a-mole
The Dallas Cowboys are on pace to win their Week 12 matchup versus the New York Giants and they already won Thanksgiving thanks to Peyton Hendershot‘s whack-a-mole celebration in the Salvation Army red kettle.
Although it was Ezekiel Elliott who went viral several seasons ago in 2016 for jumping into the red kettle (and receiving a subsequent fine for it, too), it was three Cowboys tight ends who ended up in the pot this time around.
After scoring on a two-yard handoff from Dak Prescott to put the Cowboys up 28-13 in the fourth quarter, Hendershot played whack-a-mole with Dalton Schultz, Jake Ferguson and Sean McKeon who all jumped in the Salvation Army kettle to play along.

Aside from that quickly-viral celebration, the tight ends have made their mark on this Thanksgiving Day. Schultz caught four passes for 31 yards and two touchdown passes, including the go-ahead score. Ferguson leads the group with three catches for 57 yards.
Cowboys tight ends keep kettle celebration alive
In 2018, Ezekiel Elliott even dropped Dak Prescott into the kettle in a new twist on the tradition.
“At the point he lifted me up, I’m like, ‘I better not resist or I might hurt something,’ ” Prescott said after that particular antic from his running back. “Zeke’s a person and player I’m very thankful for.”
Elliott told reporters after his first jump into the bucket: “That bucket’s just sitting right there by the end zone, so it’s only right someone jumps in it.”
The Cowboys running back is approaching 100 yards rushing versus the Giants on Thursday night. He also scored on a six-yard TD run, which was the first of the night for Dallas.
With a win over the Giants, the Cowboys will move to 8-3 on the year.
