It’s a big year for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys after last year’s early exit in the playoffs. So, he took the chance to start building on some of the relationships with his offensive weapons this offseason.

Prescott took some of his teammates to the facilities at Miami to work out. Among the group were CeeDee Lamb, Ezekiel Elliott, Dalton Schultz, Sean McKeon and rookie Jalen Tolbert, and Prescott said the trip will go a long way toward developing the bonds this season.

“It was great, obviously, just being able to get away and do that,” Prescott told reporters on Saturday. “We didn’t get a chance to do it last year with the injury, but having CeeDee, having Schultz, Sean. Got the rookie [Tolbert] out there for some reps, and Zeke, obviously. It was great just to have that camaraderie.

“But then again, go over to Miami, go open the doors for us and let us have the facility and put in some great work. Some great work that some of those guys may not have gotten in the back half of the OTAs and stuff.”

The trip wasn’t all about relationships, though. Prescott said the main goal was to get some reps in before training camp starts. But the players still found ways to hang out and get closer off the field, which is a byproduct of that type of trip.

“The purpose is to go out there and to get better and that, but the bonding happens,” Prescott said. “You’re there three days and you’re only there with each other. Whether it’s the dinners, whether it’s the hanging out, that’s what it’s about. There’s two of the guys that I feel like I got closer with just from this trip. I don’t know if I would’ve been able to without it.”
