The Dallas Cowboys activated starting cornerback Jourdan Lewis from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday afternoon, adding him back to the 53-man roster, according to a press release.

Jourdan Lewis was moved to the COVID-19 list ahead of the Cowboys game against the Washington Football Team last week. The Michigan product has played in 14 games this season with 11 starts. A cornerback, Lewis has 53 total tackles this season with 1.5 sacks and three interceptions. Next to Trevon Diggs, Lewis has helped build Dallas’ defense into one of the top in the nation.

Dallas clinched a playoff berth on Thursday night with the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Tennessee Titans and won the NFC East on Sunday. The two final games for the Cowboys come against the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles as they continue battling for playoff seeding.

Cowboys update injury report

The Dallas Cowboys are starting to get healthier. That’s what Thursday’s injury report appears to show, at least.

Running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard both participated in full on Thursday. That’s great news for the Cowboys, who use Elliott and Pollard as a solid one-two punch in the backfield.

Wide receiver Malik Taylor was also a full go after being limited Wednesday with a calf injury.

But it wasn’t all good news. Defensive tackle Quinton Bohanna popped up on the injury report with an illness and didn’t practice Thursday. Left tackle Tryon Smith and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence were limited once again as they deal with injuries.

Bohanna wasn’t on the injury report Wednesday but missed Thursday with an illness. The Cowboys took him in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Kentucky, and he has 10 tackles to his name this year.

Lawrence is practicing in a limited capacity for the second straight week as he deals with a foot injury. He missed some time earlier this year with the injury, but still isn’t a full participant in practice.

Smith, who was named to this year’s Pro Bowl, has been on and off the injury report this year with an ankle injury. He has a 91.7 grade, according to Pro Football Focus, making him one of the highest-graded tackles in the NFL.

The Cowboys are 11-4 this year and put on quite a show last week against the Washington Football Team. Dallas put up 56 points against Washington in prime time on Sunday Night Football.
