The Dallas Cowboys announced three roster additions this week as they prepare to take on the 8-1 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. After bringing in veteran wideout Antonio Callaway on Tuesday, the team also signed center Brock Hoffman and former first-round draft pick Takk McKinley. All three signed to the practice squad.

The Cowboys released defensive end Mika Tafua, making room for the signing of Callaway. Additionally, on Tuesday, Dallas moved rookie center Alec Lindstrom to injured reserve and signed Hoffman in his place.

McKinley had actually worked out with Dallas in the offseason. The 26-year-old, originally drafted by Dan Quinn and the Atlanta Falcons in 2017, ended up playing against his new team before the Rams released him in mid-October.

Since leaving UCLA for the NFL, McKinley has racked up 98 tackles, including 20 sacks, and three forced fumbles. He played four seasons for Atlanta, one for Cleveland and four games this year for the Rams.

Cowboys add Callaway

Callaway began his career with Cleveland as a fourth-round draft pick out of Florida, but has not appeared in an NFL game since the 2020 season with the Dolphins.

Dallas brought in Callaway to work out for the team last week, and made the decision to bring him onto the practice squad. He attended the Indianapolis Colts rookie minicamp prior to the season, but has not been on a team roster since 2021 with the Kansas City Chiefs. After his cut from the Chiefs in August 2021, Callaway has been a free agent ever since.

Callaway suffered a major setback in his career on the field during his time with the Browns, where he was suspended 10 games after violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Through 25 career games and 14 starts in the NFL, Callaway has caught 53 passes for 695 yards and five touchdowns.

The Cowboys (6-3) are coming off a 31-28 overtime loss to Green Bay in Week 10. They will look to turn things around when they face a red-hot Vikings (8-1) team at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
