The Dallas Cowboys are looking for additional help along their offensive line and may have found a solution on Friday. According to NFL reporter Michael Gehlken, the Cowboys brought in ex-Indianapolis Colts offensive tackle Sam Tevi for a look.

“Cowboys hosted ex-Colts and Chargers OT Sam Tevi on a visit today. No deal is imminent between the sides at this time, source said. Visit more of a medical check-in after Tevi tore his ACL last August during the preseason,” wrote Gehlken via Twitter.

Tevi, a Texas native, is the sixth-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2017 NFL Draft. Tevi played his college ball at Utah for the Utes featuring in 48 games. He spent the first four years of his career with the Chargers before signing with the Colts this offseason. Tevi’s deal with Indianapolis was essentially a one-year prove-it deal. Unfortunately, before the six-foot-five tackle from Euless TX saw any playing time in the regular season, he went down with a torn ACL. Tevi has played in 58 NFL games and has started in 44 of them.

With the Cowboys moving on from Le’al Collins this offseason, Tevi provides a potential quality backup option at the tackle position at a far better price. As of now, there is no deal in place between the two sides. But one could be on the way soon as we near the NFL draft.

Cowboys Stephen Jones on adding Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel propelled into the bevy of high-profile storylines with the NFL Draft closing in and there’s no surprise the Dallas Cowboys — an organization that could use a true No. 1 WR with the departure of Amari Cooper and CeDee Lamb continuing to develop — aren’t out of the mix, although just about every organization is likely taking a glance to see if it could pull off a deal to land the former South Carolina star.

On Wednesday, the news broke that one of the top playmakers from the 2021 campaign had officially requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers.

Michael Gehlken covers the Cowboys for the Dallas Morning News and tweeted an interesting nugget about the versatile WR landing on the emerging NFC East Squad on Friday afternoon.

“We’re always looking to get better. Obviously, you keep your eye on anything and everything that’s going on. Certainly, things have to fit in and work, but we’re always looking at where we …can get better,” Jones said via the tweet.
