The Dallas Cowboys announced two practice squad elevations on Thursday afternoon ahead of the road matchup at Tennessee. Running back Qadree Ollison and center Brock Hoffman are joining the active roster for game day.

The team’s No. 1 running back, Tony Pollard, is sitting out the Week 17 game due to a thigh bruise, according to multiple reports. Pollard didn’t practice from Monday through Wednesday, however he traveled with the team to Nashville, which left his status up in the air going into Thursday afternoon. Reports broke several hours before kickoff that the Cowboys will be rolling with Ezekiel Elliott and the third-string running back, rookie Malik Davis.

Without Pollard, Dallas would have had just the two running backs on the active roster for Thursday Night Football. However, the elevation of Ollison gives them a third option in case of emergency.

Rookie Malik Davis out of Florida has 23 carries on the year for 103 yards and a touchdown. He also has four receptions for 40 yards. The first touchdown of his NFL career came on Dec. 4 versus the Indianapolis Colts. Playing clean-up ball at the end of the game, Davis burst through the Cowboys offensive line for a 23-yard touchdown run.

Although Dallas will play without their leading rusher, it’s highly likely the Titans will as well. Derrick Henry is managing a hip injury and his backup Hassan Haskins is likely to get the start on Thursday.

Cowboys enter game day with Micah Parsons questionable

Linebacker Micah Parsons practiced in a limited capacity on Tuesday and Wednesday, with his status listed as questionable heading into the game.

The Cowboys go into the Thursday night game versus a Tennessee Titans team that’s on a major skid. Despite five straight losses, the Titans still control their fate for the postseason. Headed for a rubber match versus the Jaguars in Week 18, a win or loss versus Dallas changes little for Tennessee’s playoff chances.

Unless Philadelphia losses, little would change with a win for Dallas on Thursday, but Mike McCarthy has made it clear they aren’t entering preseason mode.
