The Dallas Cowboys face off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in one of Week 9’s most anticipated matchups. The Cowboys, sitting at 5-2, have the opportunity to make up some ground on the one-loss Eagles in their first of two divisional games. They start the series against the Eagles on the road at Lincoln Financial for the afternoon kickoff.

The biggest question facing the Cowboys on Sunday was the status of starting left tackle Tyron Smith. Mike McCarthy teased his return to practice after his neck stinger but through Saturday, he wasn’t able to fully practice. Smith’s backup, former free agent addition Chuma Edoga, was also questionable on Saturday’s injury report due to an ankle sprain he suffered against the Rams. However, both offensive linemen are active and available for the game against the Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Eagles went ahead and ruled out four injured players ahead of Sunday’s game. TE Grant Calcaterra, G Cam Jurgens, CB Bradley Roby and RB Boston Scott are all out for Sunday.

The captains for Dallas on Sunday are center Tyler Biadasz, safety Donovan Wilson and edge rusher Sam Williams.

Ahead of kickoff, both teams released their list of inactive players, which reveals who’s in and who’s officially out for the Week 9 game in Philadelphia.

Cowboys elevate Rashaan Evans for Week 9

The Dallas Cowboys were in desperate need of a boost to their defensive depth following the injury to linebacker Leighton Vander Esch that landed the starter on IR. To rectify the depth issue, the team signed former first-round draft pick Rashaan Evans to the practice squad. Now, they’ve elevated Evans to the active roster for Week 9 against the Eagles.

Evans had 159 tackles in 17 starts for the Falcons last season before joining the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad this offseason. For Dallas, he’ll wear the No. 57 jersey.

He played four seasons with the Titans before parting ways when the team opted not to exercise his fifth-year option.

In his career, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star has started 55 games. Evans has totaled 317 tackles with 15 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits and three sacks. He also posted eight passes defended, with two interceptions, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries. He also scored a touchdown on one of the recovered fumbles.
