Dalvin Cook is still a free agent but New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson would love to play with the perennial Pro Bowler.

The Minnesota Vikings released Cook earlier this month and the former Florida State star has yet to make a decision on his next stop. Cook recently spoke about potential signings with the Miami Dolphins, as well as the Jets. It appears the AFC East appeals to Cook at the moment.

But Wilson made his pitch and it was all respect about a potential future teammate.

“Dalvin (is) cold man, I’ve known about Dalvin Cook since he was at Florida State,” Wilson said, via ESPN’s Rich Cimini. “I was a Florida State fan growing up. Obviously I’d love to add someone of that talent. The front office is going to make the right decision and Dalvin is going to make the best decision for him. I’m just speaking on my love for him and how he plays the game. Obviously I would love to play with someone like that.”

Wilson starred at Ohio State and broke out as a rookie. Now with quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the fold, the Jets offense could be very dangerous.

Breece Hall, who enters his second season, might’ve won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022 at running back if it weren’t for his ACL injury.

While he was impressive, putting Hall and Cook in the same backfield is tantalizing for the Jets.

“You know, a lot of people got me pegged going back home,” Dalvin Cook said in an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio. “A lot of people got me going to the Jets. It’s all over the place right now, but what’s gonna be important for me is just going to that right situation and helping somebody turn the page.

“I want to go and be the piece that can just help somebody win and get over the hump and whatever that situation comes with, if it comes with me taking less reps, but me being in the perfect situation to hold up that trophy, I don’t mind. I just wanna go somewhere I can just get the ball and just help somebody win, and turn the next page.”

Wilson and Cook with the Jets? New York fans will sign up for that in a heartbeat.

Over the course of his career, Cook has 1,282 carries for 5,993 yards, 47 touchdowns, 4.7 yards per carry, 221 catches, 1,794 receiving yards and five touchdown receptions.
