Dalvin Cook is in the Big Apple for the weekend. And the running back will be spending lots of time at Florham Park, the Jets headquarters in New Jersey.

His itinerary should give fans a hint as to where Cook might be signing. He’s been looking for a new NFL home since the Vikings released him last month because of financial reasons. As all 32 training camps started this week, the Jets invited him in for a visit.

The hosts of Good Morning Football on the NFL Network invited Dalvin Cook to join them Friday morning. And he dropped big hints as to where he might sign.

What are the chances he’ll sign with the Jets?

“I think they’re pretty high, man,” Dalvin Cook said. “I think (the Jets) are … a team that was building something special. And I want to be a part of something special, you know, as a player. And I want to add to just whatever they got going on.

“So I think the possibility is high right now and … of getting things done.”

Thanks to Aaron Rodgers deal, Jets can afford Dalvin Cook

The Jets loosened up some cap money by renegotiating Aaron Rodgers’ contract. This financial maneuvering allows the team to bring in some quality players. The team already has Breece Hall, the former Iowa State star who the Jets selected in the second round of last year’s draft. Hall, however, tore his ACL last October. When the Jets started training camp last week, Hall still was on the physically unable to perform list.

Jets coach Robert Saleh told reporters that Hall’s health had nothing to do with bringing in Dalvin Cook for a visit.

“Breece looks fantastic, to the point where we’ve got to slow him down,” Saleh told reporters earlier this week. “He’s freakish, he’s in great shape. He looks much more fit than he did a year ago, just adding muscle and all that stuff, and still weighing 225 and hitting, like I said, that 23 on the GPS. He’s, knock on wood, he’s trending in the right direction.”

It’s still unclear whether Hall will be ready in time for the season opener against Buffalo. And in Dalvin Cook, the Jets know he’s a running back capable of taking over a game. Plus, Rodgers now is the quarterback, so everyone plays a complementary role.

He said he plans on returning to Miami, where he’s been training, after he makes his Jets official visit.

Cook said he’s going to “evaluate things, like go back, sit down my agent … sit down with my family and just to make sure this thing is right. You know, cross all the t’s and get it done, man. So it’s just like going back and just evaluating everything. It’s just like, ‘alright, that’s what I seen on the visit. ‘You know, that’s what it was. I got that good vibe. You know, go from there.”

Dalvin Cook still has options. The Dolphins fans would love for the Florida native to stick around Miami. And maybe the Patriots could entice him their way. But it appears the Jets are the team to beat.
