South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley represents Philadelphia any chance she gets. She had the opportunity to represent the City of Brotherly Love in person Monday night at Game 1 of the NLCS series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

At the game, Staley linked with Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The Kelce Brothers and Staley took a photo together, and Staley posted the photo on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“You never know who you might run into at a (Phillies) game!” Staley posted along with three smiling face with hearts emoji.

The Kelce brothers weren’t the only stars to cross paths with Staley. She threw out the first pitch for the Phillies ahead of the game along with former Villanova basketball coach Jay Wright.

“I’m proud of being from Philadelphia,” Staley said in 2017, according to an andscape story from after the Gamecocks won the national title. “I’ll tell anyone at any time that’s where I’m from. Philly people are confident. Philly people are blue-collar workers. Philly people are passionate about their sports. They are passionate about their city. They are passionate about things that are their lifestyle.”

It has been a busy weekend for Kelce, who made a special appearance on Saturday Night Live and later appeared at the show’s afterparty alongside Taylor Swift. Swift — who like Staley has Philadelphia sports loyalties as she is originally from Pennsylvania — and Kelce have been in a relationship of some kind for a few weeks.

Swiftsang the national anthem ahead of Game 3 of the 2008 World Series.

She addressed her fandom over the summer at her concert in the city, referencing her 2021 song “gold rush.”

“I don’t know how large the debate was, but I did see the debate,” Swift said. “I have a lyric that says, ‘With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door.’ I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles, and I love the band the Eagles, but guys, come on. I’m from Philly. Of course it’s the team.”

While she might be an Eagles fan, she has been at three of the past four Chiefs games to watch Travis Kelce. There was a rumor she was going to attend Sunday’s game between the Eagles and the New York Jets in New Jersey but those rumors proved to be false.
