DeAndre Hopkins has scheduled a visit for this weekend as he continues to search for his new home.

The star receiver is set to visit Nashville on Sunday to check out the Tennessee Titans, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

Hopkins was cut by the Arizona Cardinals last month and is now a free agent. Several teams around the NFL are interested in adding him to their roster.

There is some familiarity with Hopkins and Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, who was an assistant in Houston early on in Hopkins’ NFL career when Hopkins played for the Texans.

Hopkins was drafted by Houston in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. He was traded to Arizona in March of 2020.

The addition of DeAndre Hopkins would give Tennessee another playmaker in the passing game to go along with star running back Derrick Henry.

Hopkins is entering his 11th NFL season after a very productive career at Clemson. He has been named first-team All-Pro three times, including most recently in 2019. The South Carolina native has also been named to five Pro Bowls.

He was suspended for the first six games of the 2022 season for performance-enhancing drugs but had a solid year once he was back on the field last fall, catching 64 passes for 717 yards and three touchdowns. Hopkins’ best season came in 2018 when he hauled in 115 passes for 1,572 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Dallas Cowboys reveal why they aren’t pursuing DeAndre Hopkins

It seemed that the Dallas Cowboys might be one potential landing spot for DeAndre Hopkins, but it appears as though that won’t be the case.

Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said earlier this week that Dallas isn’t planning to pursue Hopkins. Jones and the Cowboys like the group of receivers that are already on their roster.

“He’s not on this team right now,” Jones said, per Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We went down the road with Cooks. We’re very comfortable with Cooks. We’re pleased with our receiving group.”

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy had much of the same to say about Hopkins last week.

“Being on offense full-time, I really like the look of our group, the vertical speed,” McCarthy said at OTAs. “As far as players that are not here, there’s nothing good that comes out of those answers. Hop is a hell of a talent. I’ve always had respect for him since his rookie year.”
