There’s nothing like a player talking trash after getting beat 42-10. And it continued Tuesday when Deebo Samuel jumped on the comments made by Micah Parsons, who was reacting to George Kittle.

Parsons, the talented Cowboys edge rusher, might be talking a better game than he played Sunday night when the 49ers walloped Dallas at Levi Stadium. It was the most lopsided loss in the decades-long series.

For background, Parsons took exception to a shirt Kittle wore, saying he made it “personal.” And Parsons promised, “laugh now, cry later.” Parsons was talking about winning a potential playoff matchup between the two teams. After all, the Cowboys have faced the 49ers in the postseason the past two Januarys. (San Francisco beat Dallas both times. But why bring up those details?)

Then Deebo Samuel jumped on the Micah Parsons comment Tuesday during an appearance on the Up & Adams podcast.

“It was already personal before the game started,” Samuel said. “42 to 10, I don’t think you wanna see us again. It might be a little bit worse … laugh now, cry later. I don’t think you want to see us again.

Ouch. But he’s got a point.

Trent Williams kept Micah Parsons away from Deebo Samuel and Brock Purdy

So here’s what Parsons said Monday, the day after the debacle. Kittle, the 49ers talented and quirky tight end, wore a tee shirt underneath his jersey that combined a profanity starting with the word F along with “Dallas.” Apparently, the tee shirt had its genesis in 1994. That’s when Gary Plummer, a veteran linebacker playing his first year with the 49ers, wore the same shirt when San Francisco knocked off the Cowboys. When the 49ers beat them in the NFC title game, Dallas was the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.

The shirt proved to be a lucky charm, since Kittle scored three touchdowns.

San Francisco offensive tackle Trent Williams did a good job keeping Parsons away from quarterback Brock Purdy. Parsons had one solo tackle, with three assists. He didn’t have a sack. Meanwhile, Samuel, who is dealing with a knee injury, ran five times for 30 yards and caught three passes for 55.

Stating the obvious: Cowboys DC Dan Quinn ‘bummed’ over loss

Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, obviously, was disappointed with the outcome. He knows the offense of 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan very well, since Quinn used to be his boss.

“I’m bummed,” Quinn told reporters. “You get your ass kicked, you only have a couple choices in the fight. You can pout about it or get back up and get rocking again. And I certainly know that’s what we’re gonna do.”

Quinn added: “There’s no fingerpointing with our group. In fact, the fingers are being pointed in the direction that they need to — let’s work on this, let’s work on that. I admire that about our group. I’ve been on other teams where there was fingerpointing and blame, but that’s not this group.

“Extremely disappointed, but I also know what we’re made of, and we’re not gonna let this game beat us twice.”

So maybe if Dallas rights its season, Micah Parsons will get another chance at Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and all those other talented 49ers.
