One of the most interesting and entertaining parts of the NFC Championship Game was the competition between San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel and Detroit Lions defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

Throughout the game, the two players chirped back and forth and after the game, Samuel hilariously continued chirping at Gardner-Johnson.

At one point in the first half, Detroit intercepted Brock Purdy and on the return, Gardner-Johnson got hit with a personal foul for a blindside block on Samuel. After the Lions scored, cameras caught him then waving goodbye to the crowd. In the end, though, San Francisco won and Samuel took to social media where he quoted the video.

“Somebody go check on lil bruh,” Samuel wrote.

Trash talk is one of the things that can make sports entertaining and wide receivers and defensive backs are known for their ability to talk. This is just a good reminder that the winner always gets the last laugh.

Deebo Samuel, who was questionable to play in the game after getting injured in the previous round against the Green Bay Packers, led San Francisco in receiving too. He had eight receptions for 89 yards, both of which led the team. On the other side of the ball, C.J. Garnder-Johnson had four tackles during the game.

This is going to be the second time that Deebo Samuel has played in the Super Bowl. The first came in 2020 against the Kansas City Chiefs, with the 49ers coming up just short. Certainly, San Francisco will be looking for a different result this season as once again Kansas City is waiting in the Super Bowl.

Two weeks ahead of the game, San Francisco is a 2.5-point favorite. Tickets for the game are soaring in price, over $8,000.

Dan Campbell stands behind decisions on unsuccessful 4th down conversions

One of the pivotal parts of the NFC Championship was Detroit’s multiple failed fourth down conversions. In turn, head coach Dan Campbell was widely criticized for those choices, which he stood behind following the game.

“I just felt really good about us converting and getting our momentum and not letting them play long ball. They were bleeding the clock out, that’s what they do, and I wanted to get the upper hand back,” Campbell said.

“And it’s easy hindsight and I get that, but I don’t regret those decisions and that’s hard. It’s hard because we didn’t come through. It wasn’t able to work out. But I don’t, and I understand the scrutiny I’ll get. That’s part of the gig, man.”
