Denny Hamlin made sure to give a shoutout to FOX Sports as their NASCAR coverage ended with Sonoma last weekend.

While FOX will still run NASCAR Race Hub and the Truck Series races, our time with Mike Joy, Clint Bowyer and a bevy of other analysts has dissipated for 2023. NBC Sports will take over for the rest of the season, as they’ve done in years past.

During this week’s edition of Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin, the 23XI Racing team owner shouted FOX out for their coverage throughout the first couple of months of the season, and was complimentary to the entire team that gets the job done for the network.

“I want to say thank you to FOX, for their portion of the season. Definitely thought that we had some good stuff this year. Some great analysts,” explained Hamlin. “I loved hearing [Jamie] McMurray in the booth. I think he is such an undervalued analyst within our sport. I liked actually the combination of him and [Clint] Bowyer, and how they’d go back and fourth. I think, genuinely speaking, Bowyer’s gotten better this year. I think Kevin Harvick will bring a huge, huge, valuable voice to our sport, of someone that’s been in the car in the last, you know, someone who just got out of the race car and now he’s going to the booth next year. And Mike Joy, just a ton of knowledge in that guy’s brain, that he brings each and every week.

“So thank you to our partners and FOX, for their portion. And don’t forget, they’re still going to be doing the trucks, and they’re still going to have Race Hub each weeknight as well, so make sure you tune in as well.”

Of course, Kevin Harvick will be joining FOX next season following his retirement, so the booth will sound a little different than it did throughout the last couple of months in 2024. The trio of Mike Joy, Clint Bowyer and the aforementioned Harvick should be one of the best we’ve had in a long time.

Meanwhile, NBC has been lauded for their coverage in recent seasons, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. leading the charge on the network. In addition to Earnhardt, Jeff Burton has received praise for his insight, as he’s been great in the booth as well.

Denny Hamlin speaks for all NASCAR fans with his praise for FOX, and we’ll see them at next season’s Daytona 500.
