Derrick Henry‘s days of totin’ the rock for the Tennessee Titans may very well be through, but that doesn’t necessarily mean his NFL career is a wrap.

In fact, far from it.

Henry, speaking this week on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, said that not only does he want to continue playing, but he feels he has another 2,000-yard season in him.

“Like I said, I want to win a Super Bowl,” Henry said. “I ain’t done playing, I ain’t close to done playing. I still feel I can run for another 2,000, but that’s for the future to tell.”

Henry, 30, will be an unrestricted free agent in 2024. In 17 games this season, he rushed for 1,167 yards on 4.2 yards per carry and 12 touchdowns. He added 28 receptions for 214 yards through the air. Henry saved his best for the final game of the season, rushing for a season-high 153 yards and helping lead the Titans to a 28-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars to cost them a second straight AFC South title.

After the win, Henry spoke to the Titans faithful at Nissan Stadium, thanking them for the “greatest eight years of my life.”

“This is a great way to go out, especially against a division opponent, an opponent that I grew [up] down the street watching and looking at and following as a kid growing up,” Henry told reporters after the game. “So, it’s all full circle, which is great to be able to finish with the win and finish with class.”

Henry is four years removed from becoming the eighth running back in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards or more in a single season. He is 13th on the all-time rushing touchdowns list with 90 career scores. While Henry will undoubtedly test the free agency market in hopes of securing a spot on a Super Bowl contender, Titans general manager Ran Carthon isn’t ruling out a return.

“That will be the new head coach and I having a conversation,” Carthon said last week. “I had a really good conversation with Derrick yesterday on the way out. We had our conversation, which I’ll keep between he and I, but the door is never closed.”
