Sunday Night Football was a disaster for the Dallas Cowboys in more ways than one. On one hand, they took a 32-point loss to the San Francisco 49ers. On the other hand, they suffered several injuries down the stretch of the contest.

The latest health concern comes for S Donovan Wilson. As the fourth quarter wound down, Wilson found himself having to leave the game with an injury to his right leg. Medical staff helped him get off the field and he did not return before the final buzzer.

Wilson was trying to get loose from WR Ronnie Bell on a block. At that point, OL Matt Pryor hit the ground and rolled Wilson’s leg up to cause the injury.

By the time he left the loss, Wilson was the third-leading tackler with seven.

This was the third game of his season for the fifth-year member of the Cowboy secondary. He dealt with a calf injury coming into the season that held him out of their first two matchups this year.

That came after Wilson signed a three-year, $24 million deal to remain with the Cowboys this offseason.

Dallas is going to have to move on from this loss quickly considering the fashion in which it came. It’ll be harder for them to do so, though, if any of the injured parties in WR KaVontae Turpin, LB Leighton Vander Esch, or Wilson are impacted for any stretch beyond tonight.

Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch leaves with neck injury

Sunday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers has been an unmitigated disaster for the Dallas Cowboys. Simply everything that could possibly go wrong has gone wrong for the Cowboys. They currently trail the game 42-10 on Sunday night in the fourth quarter.

Things have only gotten worse on the health front as well. They’ve lost multiple players to injury on Sunday evening. In the fourth quarter, Dallas LB Leighton Vander Esch suffered a neck injury after 49ers OL Trent Williams drove him headfirst into Micah Parsons.

Here is the video of the collision below.

Cowboys players were kneeling in concern.

He was seen walking to the locker room after being down on the field for a few minutes. The Cowboy’s medical staff appeared to be evaluating his neck area. A few minutes later, Sunday Night Football’s Melissa Stark updated everybody on his status by saying he was questionable to return to the game with a neck injury.
