Duke star Kyle Filipowski has made his decision on the 2024 NBA draft. Filipowski is turning pro, he announced on social media on Friday.

The sophomore averaged 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this past season, helping the Blue Devils reach the Elite 8.

Kyle Filipowski signed with Duke as a five-star prospect in the class of 2022. He was ranked as the No. 5 overall player in the country and the No. 1 power forward in the nation coming out of high school, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

Filipowski was immediately one of the best players on the Duke team in 2022-23 as he was named the ACC Rookie of the Year and the ACC Tournament MVP. He is one of only four players in ACC history to earn those two honors in the same season.

As a freshman, Kyle Filipowski averaged 15.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, leading the Blue Devils in both categories.

As a sophomore, during his second and final season at Duke, Filipowski once again led Duke and both points and rebounds. Now he is off to the NBA where he will look to continue to be an impact player.

“This has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to pursue it,” Filipowski said in a statement.

Duke guard Jared McCain declares for 2024 NBA Draft

Kyle Filipowski was not the only Duke star to declare for the NBA draft on Friday.

Duke guard Jared McCain also announced that he is turning pro after one season with the Blue Devils.

“I’ve always been a dream chaser. I’ve always been one to reach my goals. And the next one is the NBA,” Jared McCain said in a video. “With that being said, I will be entering my name into the 2024 NBA draft.”

Jared McCain averaged 14.3 points per game this past season, helping the Blue Devils to the Elite 8. He was second on the team in scoring and third in rebounding at 5 per game. McCain is also an excellent shooter, knocking down 41.4 percent of his 3-point attempts and 88.5 percent of his free throws this past year.

During four NCAA Tournament games, he averaged 21 points, reaching the 30-point mark twice.

Even though Jared McCain declared for the NBA draft, it’s clear that he enjoyed his time at Duke.

During the announcement video, McCain had plenty of good things to say about his time as a Blue Devil.

“Today I’m feeling such gratitude and appreciation for my life, for everything that’s been brought to me this year,” McCain said. “I want to thank the coaching staff, my family, my teammates for everything they’ve done for me this year.”
