Philadelphia Eagles superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown was injured in the first quarter of the Giants game on Sunday afternoon. He was down on the ground clutching his right knee for a few minutes, before heading into the medical tent with the Eagles training staff. After spending some time in the medical tent, he headed to the locker room for further medical evaluation.

Here’s the play where the injury occurred.

The Eagles officially ruled him as questionable to return to the game with a knee injury, per their Twitter page. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also said that based on the initial exam of the knee, the ACL is intact. He was seen outside the Eagles’ locker room standing and welcoming his teammates back after Sunday’s loss. Philadelphia was blown out by the Giants, 27-10. And their franchise currently has their momentum heading in the wrong direction heading into the 2024 Playoffs. The Eagles will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, January 15th. Kickoff for that one is slated for 8:00 PM EST and it will be televised on ESPN and ABC.

Brown has cooled off in the second half of the season in 2023, and the Eagles as a team have really struggled down the stretch, losing five of their last six. Still, Brown managed to finish the season with over 1,400 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He’s enjoyed a dominant career in the NFL thus far, hauling in over 1,000 receiving yards in four of his five seasons in the league.

It was absolutely incredible what the former Ole Miss star did during the 2020 season, playing on two bad knees for the Tennessee Titans. He ended up making the Pro Bowl that year, despite needing cleanup surgery on both knees following the season. In 2021, he battled a number of various ailments (knee, hamstring, chest, and calf), but still played in 13 games.

An elite athlete coming out of high school, Brown was recruited by Ole Miss to play both college baseball and college football. He became the second player after Kyler Murray to play in the Under Armour All-America Game for both football and baseball. Not surprisingly, Brown was highly thought of by the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2016 cycle. The former Ole Miss star was rated a four-star prospect and as the No. 42 overall player in America, according to those rankings.
