Elgton Jenkins, Eric Stokes return to practice for Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers returned offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins and cornerback Eric Stokes to practice on Tuesday. It was Stokes’ first day back to work since last season. He had a foot and knee injury stemming from a November loss to the Detroit Lions.
Meanwhile, Jenkins departed the Week 2 Packers’ game against the Falcons in the first half and did not return for the second half. He then underwent an MRI to determine the severity of the injury. The team determined he had an MCL sprain that would sideline him for two weeks.
Jenkins, a second-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, is in his fifth season with the Packers. He is a two-time Pro Bowl selection, earning spots in 2020 and 2022. He was also a member of the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2019.
Stokes is now in his third year out of Georgia. He appeared in all of Green Bay’s games last season until his injury. He racked up 26 total tackles in nine games.
Because Stokes started the season on the PUP list, the Packers have 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster or place him on injured reserve.

Packers unsure of David Bakhtiari’s future
The Green Bay Packers moved offensive lineman David Bakhtiari on injured reserve last week, and now, his status is up in the air for his future with the franchise. After undergoing his fourth surgery on his left knee in the last three years, Bakhtiari could choose to call it a career. Head coach Matt LaFleur would not say one way or another whether the lineman will play for the Packers again this year.
“Yeah, I’ll let Dave comment on that,” LaFleur said. “I know he wanted to talk to you guys later on. I’ll let him talk about his timeline.”
The long-time Packer played just one game this season before his knee became a problem again.
“He put in so much hard work to try and get back,” Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said Monday. “You just feel for him for all the things he’s been through.”
