Micah Parsons has been having a standout season for a rookie in the NFL. By the way he’s been playing for the Dallas Cowboys throughout 2021, Parsons looks like a veteran instead of a first-year professional player, and he’s received high recognition for how’s he’s been performing.

In Sunday’s game against the Washington Football team, a 27-20 win, Parsons produced in a big way – making three tackles with a pair of big sacks and a forced fumble. For the season, the 6-foot-3, 248-pound Penn State product is up to 70 total tackles, 12 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Following his dominant outing on Sunday, ESPN’s Ryan Clark took to Twitter to praise Parsons – not just for the way he played against Washington, but all season.

“No disrespect to your favorite defensive player, but he ain’t @MicahhParsons11,” Clark’s tweet said. “He’s not only the best rookie PERIOD, but he’s the best defensive player in the league. He’d have 20 sacks if he just rushed, or 130 tackles if he only played middle! He might be the best at both!”

Parsons – who was the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft – and the Dallas Cowboys are now 9-4 on the season and return to action Sunday on the road against the New York Giants. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

WATCH: Micah Parsons showcases sideline antics against Washington

It’s no secret that Micah Parsons is one of the best defenders in the NFL. He consistently makes plays for the Dallas Cowboys’ defense, and his name is one of the most well-respected at the defensive end and linebacker positions.

How does he always perform at a high level? It’s probably because he works out on the sideline during games.

During Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team, he was caught on video doing push-ups on the Cowboys’ sideline. The NFL used the caption, “Micah Parsons is different” with a laughing emoji in their tweet that included the video.

One of the biggest plays Parsons made Sunday against Washington was forcing fumble that led to a Cowboys’ touchdown. After Washington snapped the ball, Parsons ran straight through their offense line – quickly getting to quarterback Taylor Heinicke and delivering a crushing hit that caused the quarterback to lose the ball.

While the ball was loose, Dorance Armstrong recovered it and returned it for a Dallas touchdown to push its lead to 18-0 at the time.
