Alexis Morris put on a show during her time playing women’s basketball at LSU. Now she will get to do the same while playing basketball all over the world. Morris has signed with the Harlem Globetrotters, it was announced on Thursday.

Alexis Morris will take the court with the Globetrotters for the first time on Friday at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts — the birthplace of basketball and The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

“The Harlem Globetrotters have a storied history of signing some of the world’s most accomplished and coveted talent — Wilt Chamberlain, Connie Hawkins, “Curley” Neal, Lou Dunbar, Lynette Woodard and now, Alexis Morris,” Keith Dawkins, the President of Harlem Globetrotters, said in a statement.

“As the global basketball landscape continues to evolve, the Globetrotters are well positioned to offer unapparelled opportunities for professional basketball players looking to develop, and showcase, their amazing skills. … Signing Alexis reflects our commitment to pursuing the best ballers from around the world.”

Alexis Morris helped LSU to the national championship last season, averaging 16.8 points and 3.8 assists per game in last year’s NCAA Tournament run.

She played two seasons for the Tigers in total, averaging 15.2 points and 3.5 assists over 64 games for LSU. Morris becomes the seventh woman to join the Harlem Globetrotters organization.

Later this month, Morris and the Globetrotters will play at the Barclays Center on February 18 and Madison Square Garden on February 24. The Texas native will go by her nickname of “The Show” during her time with the Globetrotters.

After helping LSU to the national title last season, Morris was drafted by the Connecticut Sun in the second round of the 2023 WNBA draft. She is currently a free agent in the WNBA.

“I’m excited to join the Harlem Globetrotters and want to thank the leadership team for giving me an opportunity to grow my personal and professional career while playing the game I love,” Morris said in a statement. “There is a lot to learn from my coaches and teammates and I’m excited to highlight the level of basketball and entertainment of the organization. ‘The Show’ is now a part of the growing legacy of Harlem Globetrotters basketball.”

Alexis Morris came to LSU after stops at three other schools.

She started her college career at Baylor in 2017-18 and appeared in 34 games, with eight starts. She averaged 9.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

From there, she spent two seasons at Rutgers, before transferring to Texas A&M for the 2020-21 season. She averaged 6 points for the Aggies that season.

Morris then transferred to LSU and had two excellent seasons that ended with her helping the Tigers win a national championship.
