Marshawn Lynch is popping up on all sorts of screens. He’s currently starring in a Fox reality series. And later this summer, he’s in the cast for a comedy called Bottoms.

We don’t have a ton of information on who Lynch, aka Beast Mode, plays in Bottoms. His character is known as Mr. G. And it’s definitely an interesting premise. According to IMDb, it focuses on “two unpopular queer high school students (who) start a fight club to have sex before graduation.”

The movie probably will be funny and quirky, considering the producers of Pitch Perfect and Cocaine Bear are behind it.

One critic said Marshawn Lynch stole the movie

Bottoms enjoyed its early premiere at Austin’s SXSW back in March. And believe it or not, at least one critic said that Marshawn Lynch stole the show. The movie is a follow-up to Shiva Baby from 2020. Since the film is about fighting teenagers, we’re going to assume that Lynch’s character teaches them how to throw down.

Ryan Scott, a critic from Slashfilm.com, wrote:

“Lynch shows up unannounced in the film and, when I tell you he damn near steals the show out from under an impressively hilarious ensemble, I am not kidding.”

Scott added: “I won’t get into spoilers here but rather, I will say that, even as someone who loves the NFL and Marshawn Lynch, I would have had my doubts about him as a serious actor beyond a bit part here or there. Now? I want to see him in every movie ever from here on out. A romantic comedy with Jennifer Lawrence? Sign me up. A big action movie with Jason Statham? Yes, please. The next dramatic epic from Steven Spielberg? Do it, you cowards.”

Meanwhile, Marshawn Lynch also is a breakout star of Stars on Mars, which premiered Monday night on Fox. The reality series sends a dozen celebrities to space camp for a make-believe mission to Mars. Star Trek icon William Shatner is the host who gives the cast their tasks. Lynch and Richard Sherman, who were teammates on the Seahawks, are both in the series. Cyclist Lance Armstrong also is in the cast. Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who starred as McLovin on Super Bad, was the first of the cast to get the (space) boot.

Sherman tweeted a clip, writing “Get Marshawn Lynch and I on Mars they said … now that’s a recipe for comedy!” We’re not sure if the show is a hit or miss. Nearly 1.3 million viewers tuned in for the premiere of this summer reality comedy. For context, long-running American Ninja Warrior more than doubled Stars on Mars viewership.
