Don’t expect Seattle Seahawks wideout D.K. Metcalf to join the TB12 Method any time soon. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound former Ole Miss star recently revealed his diet is largely predicated on candy. You’d expect the Seahawks wideout to consume upwards of 4,000 calories a day, and he might – but it’s not in chicken breasts.

“I eat one meal a day,” Metcalf revealed on Showtime Basketball with Kevin Garnett. “I eat one meal a day, drink one coffee, and eat, like, 3-4 bags of candy.”

Thankfully, former NBA champion Kevin Garnett asked Metcalf to clarify.

“I’m a gummy type of guy, like lifesavers,” Metcalf said. “Yesterday, I woke up, worked out, worked out again, came home, showered. I was hungry so I ran to Starbucks and got a coffee. It’s 12 so that’s going to hold me for like four hours. At about 4:30, I ordered some candy and water. I got the skittles gummies, then I got the lifesaver creations. They’re the same sized bag so I just mix ’em. That’ll hold me until like 8-9, then I eat dinner and go to sleep.”

Former Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch landed a major sponsorship deal from Skittles in his heyday and it seems like Metcalf will follow in his footstep. Whether or not he’s still with the team in the fall is up in the air.

Pete Carroll on DK Metcalf’s future in Seattle

Following the trade of star quarterback Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll addressed the future of wide receiver DK Metcalf. The team remains adamant that they want to play for wins next season despite moving on from multiple key veterans.

Pete Carroll told Greg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune that the team hopes to keep DK Metcalf in the organization long-term with an extension despite the signals of a rebuild this offseason.

“It’s really important to us,” Carroll said about retaining Metcalf on a new deal. “We love him. He maybe will go down as one of the great draft picks we’ve ever had here. We are going to do everything we can to get it done.”

Despite Carroll’s adamant answer that the team wants to hold onto Metcalf long-term, some remember him saying the Seahawks had “no intention” to trade Wilson before the deal with the Denver Broncos.

Over his first three seasons, Metcalf has caught 216 passes for 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns. However, with Drew Lock stepping in at quarterback, his production for at least the next year comes into question despite his rise to star status.
