Former Raiders star and Hall of Famer Warren Sapp shared his harshly critical opinion on Colin Kaepernick‘s workout with the team. Kaepernick worked out with the Las Vegas Raiders in May as he continues to attempt a comeback to the NFL, and initial reports from the workout indicated that it was a positive step for the quarterback.

According to Sapp however, the workout was “one of the worst workouts ever” — something that he claimed to hear from people present for it.

“I heard it was a disaster. I heard it was one of the worst workouts ever,” said Sapp of Kaepernick’s team workout. “I’m wondering how the hell this happened and the tape didn’t get out, right? I mean, somebody wasn’t over the fence or nothing? C’mon man. We live in a world right now where you can put a drone up, they can’t stop you.”

As Sapp explained that the workout was supposedly disastrous, he couldn’t help but wonder how footage of the workout didn’t get leaked if it was as bad as it sounded. For most of the nearly 50 second clip, the majority of Sapp’s remaining point on Kaepernick was about the ability to use drones to spy on the practice.

Sapp’s criticisms seem to contradict what people have said about previous workouts for Kaepernick, including ESPN reports of the May workout in question. However, Sapp is clearly convinced that Kaepernick will never return to the NFL level.

Since his departure from the NFL after becoming a free agent in 2017, Kaepernick has drawn attention across the league for his inability to find a new team to play for. Kaepernick became an incredibly divisive topic around the nation after his practice of taking a knee during the national anthem received mainstream attention. While Kaepernick was not released from his previous team, the San Francisco 49ers, due to his protest efforts — his inability to find any team to offer him a contract led to claims that he was blacklisted from the NFL.
