The Golden State Warriors have landed Chris Paul from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Jordan Poole, Ryan Rollins and draft compensation, according to ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania of Stadium.

Paul is on the move once again in another blockbuster deal after being a part of the Bradley Beal trade earlier this week.

The 38-year-old Paul just recently completed his 18th season in the NBA after starring at Wake Forest.

According to Charania, Washington is getting back Poole, Rollins, a protected first-round pick in 2030 and a second-round pick in 2027.

Chris Paul will join a Warriors backcourt that also features two of the best shooters in NBA history in Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

Paul has spent the last three seasons of his 18-year career with Phoenix, helping the Suns reach the playoffs in each of those three years after they failed to miss the playoffs in 10 straight seasons. He was a major catalyst in the Suns’ 2021 trip to the NBA Finals, where they fell to the Milwaukee Bucs, despite Paul’s 21.8 points and 8.2 assists per game in the Finals.

Prior to heading to the NBA, Paul played a pair of seasons at Wake Forest. He averaged 15.3 points and 6.6 assists per game as a sophomore, before being drafted No. 4 overall in the 2005 NBA draft.

The 12-time all-star began his career with the Hornets. He has also played for the Clippers, Rockets, Thunder and Suns.

Chris Paul found out he was being traded to Wizards while on a flight

Details have yet to be released on how Chris Paul found out he was being traded to the Warriors. However, he shared that he was on a flight when he found out he was heading to the Wizards.

The Wizards sent three-time All-Star Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Chris PaulLandry Shamet and an assortment of second-round picks and pick swaps.

The trade sent shockwaves across the NBA landscape, but nobody was more shocked than Chris Paul, who revealed Monday on ‘Good Morning America’ that he learned about the news of being traded in a surprising fashion.

“I was surprised too,” Paul said getting a laugh out of the GMA panel. “I found out on the plane yesterday flying here for this. In this league anything can happen so you just figure out what’s next.”

As Paul mentioned, anything can happen. That includes being traded to the Warriors just a few days later.
