Former Las Vegas Raiders corner Keisean Nixon had yet to make his debut with Green Bay in training camp. A groin injury had held him out of the Packer’s first nine practices of camp. That all changed, though, once the Packers activated him from the injury list as he passed his physical.

Aaron Wilson of the Pro Football Network shared the news on the Los Angeles native.

Wilson signed with the Packers after three seasons with the Raiders. He produced 38 tackles and a pass deflection in 40 games with the team. A majority of his career snaps, though, have come on special teams.

Wilson spent two seasons at JUCO Arizona Western before transferring to South Carolina for his final two seasons of college football. He finished his senior year in 2018 with 63 tackles and nine pass deflections before going undrafted.

After earning his time in Oakland and Las Vegas, Jackson should be able to stick his nose into the Packers roster now that he’s healthy. He will have a little under a week to prepare for potential game action as Green Bay opens their preseason Aug. 12 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Former South Carolina star Keisean Nixon leaves Las Vegas Raiders for new NFL home

The Green Bay Packers are adding some additional help in their secondary after agreeing to terms with cornerback Keisean Nixon. According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Talk, the two sides came to an agreement Friday afternoon, per his sources.

“Veteran corner Keisean Nixon, formerly with the Las Vegas Raiders is signing with the Green Bay Packers, per a league source,” wrote Wilson via Twitter.

Nixon went undrafted out of South Carolina in the 2019 NFL Draft and was picked up by the then-Oakland Raiders. The five-foot-ten native of Los Angeles, CA, has spent all three years of his NFL career with the Raiders organization. Nixon leaves Las Vegas after playing in 40 games over his NFL career. He also has recorded 38 tackles, 28 solo, forced two fumbles and has one pass deflection to his name.
