Green Bay Packers linebacker Quay Walker is questionable to return to Monday Night Football vs. the Las Vegas Raiders with a knee injury, according to the team.

Walker was the Packers’ leading tackler (4) and had one tackle for loss before being taken out of the game. Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson will serve as the main inside linebackers until Walker’s status is updated again.

Walker has already had issues with injury this season, clearing concussion protocol after being taken out of the season-opener against the Chicago Bears immediately following the first interception return for a touchdown of his career. Days after clearing protocol, he had the best performance of his young career with 17 total tackles and a pass break up in a 25-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Walker suffered the concussion during the run back of his pick-six against the Bears. He intercepted Chicago quarterback Justin Fields and returned the pick 37 yards for the score.

The Las Vegas Raiders lead the Packers 10-3 at the halftime break. Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love is 7 of 12 for 56 yards and an interception after 30 minutes.

More on Walker

Before the NFL, Walker was a star in Georgia’s defensive lineup. In Athens, he played in all 14 games as a reserve in 2018, where he won the team’s special teams newcomer of the year award. In 2019, he had 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks.

He ramped things up even more in 2020 with 43 tackles, two tackles for a loss and a sack. In UGA’s national championship 2021 season, he started all 15 games, recording 67 tackles, 5.5 for loss with 1.5 sacks, and three pass breakups before declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft. He was subsequently selected No. 22 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers with their first pick of the draft.

Still, he’s been a star since his high school days. As a former five-star recruit in the class of 2018, Walker was the No. 3 linebacker in the nation out of Crisp County in Cordele, Georgia.

Continuing, Walker joined the Bulldogs as one of the top recruits in the entire nation, ranking No. 25 overall in On3’s Industry Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. Even with immense competition at the linebacker position at Georgia, Walker made an undeniable impact.
