The Green Bay Packers made some roster moves today following their preseason week two matchup versus the New Orleans Saints.

The Packers released center and former Arkansas Razorback Ty Clary and linebacker Chauncey Manac, who attended Lousianna Layfayette. Clary was a versatile lineman at Arkansas, getting snaps at right guard, left guard, and center throughout his collegiate career. In his senior season, he posted a team-high team-high 74.7 run-blocking grade according to Pro Football Focus, as he was a big part of Arkansas’ lethal rushing attack and their best season since 2011.

Manac was an under-recruited prospect out of Homerville, Georgia, and attended Garden City Community College out of high school before signing with the Rajin’ Cajuns his redshirt sophomore year. In 2021, his senior season at ULL, he was Second Team All-Conference in the Sunbelt and helped lead the Rajin’ Cajuns to a conference championship.

The Packers have one more preseason matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, Aug. 25 as they get closer and closer to filling out their 53-man roster for the season.

WATCH: Aaron Rodgers gives interesting response on Jordan Love’s situation

NFL reporter Mike Clemens asked Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgersan interesting question during camp, asking if backup quarterback Jordan Love is facing as much ridicule, criticism, or doubt as much as Rodgers did when he was backing up Brett Favre between 2005 and 2008.

“I don’t know about that, I mean I think there’s always pressure on a first round pick. The tracks are looking more similar by the day, him being in his third year and me waiting behind Brett for three years. Something clicks in at some point and the game slows down and you make the plays you know you’re capable of making, and I look forward to watching him on Friday and against the Saints as well. But the most important thing for a quarterback is that confidence and the confidence comes from the consistency, and the fundamentals, and making plays at practice, and feeling good about the offense, and all of the things that are expected of you,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers as previously vocalized that he wasn’t ‘elated’ when the Packers selected Love with their first round draft pick in 2020, sparking some friction between the him and the front office and making offseason headlines in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. But heading into this season Rodgers expressed nothing but excitement for Love’s future, and drew from his own experience as a backup years ago.

“I think all of us come along at our own pace, I needed the years to get to where I was at and whether the criticism was equal in 05 and six and seven for me as it was for him, I don’t know. Some of that you kind of move past as you’ve had success, but I’m excited for him this preseason, I think he’s had a really nice camp, made some good throws, more consistent with his fundamentals and I hope he goes out and balls out,” Rodgers said.

Love was not the most polished prospect out of Utah State, but showed a lot of potential and upside with his arm talent as a backup that could develop behind Rodgers. Rodgers enters his fifteenth season as the starter for the Packers, but the 38 year-old has shown no sign of slowing down as he’s coming off of back-to-back MVP seasons. The Packers haven’t used a first round draft pick on an offensive skill player to help Rodgers since he was named the starter in 2008, and it will definitely be interesting to see how the franchise navigates the next few years. But for now it seems that all is well in the quarterback room in Green Bay, and that Rodgers wants nothing but the best for Love moving forward.
