The Green Bay Packers have released their injury report for Friday heading into Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears

The Green Bay Packers have released their injury report for Friday heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Chicago Bears.

As speculated throughout the week, the Packers will officially be without both starting corners, Jaire Alexander and Kevin King. Green Bay already knew they would be without Alexander as he is on their short-term injured reserve list.

However, King is a fresh scratch after injuring his shoulder in the fourth quarter in last Sunday’s game. Before Sunday’s game against Cincinnati, King had missed the Packers’ previous two games due to concussion protocol.

When asked about how the team will fare without their starting corners, head coach Matt LaFleur expressed that the Packers have strength in numbers.

“We’ve got lot of different guys we can put out there,” LaFleur said. “Rasul is one of the guys. Ike (Yiadom), who has been here for a while now. And then we also have Sully and Shemar, and then we’ve got Quinton Dunbar on the p-squad. So we’ve got plenty of options.”

The Packers will also be without receiver Malik Taylor on Sunday. Taylor has been placed on the reserve/ COVID-19 list, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst. It is uncertain if the receiver has contracted the virus due to the agreement between the NFL and NFLPA. But what we do know for certain is he will not be available Sunday.

Backup tackle Dennis Kelly is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game. Kelly did not practice at all this week due to a back injury.

Good news for the Packers

On a brighter note, Green Bay is likely to have starting center Josh Myers and guard Elgton Jenkins in the lineup against the bears. Jenkins has missed three games for the Packers after injuring his ankle against the Detroit Lions. Last Thursday and all this week he has practiced but in a limited capacity. Matt LaFleur did not reveal whether or not Jenkins was a goal for Sunday.

“We’ll give him up till game time,” said LaFleur after Friday’s practice. “He was out there today in a limited capacity, worked a lot of different combinations.”

Myers on the other hand was a full participant in this week’s practice. The second-round pick in this year’s draft missed Sunday’s showdown in Cincinnati with a finger injury.

With the Packers set to face off against a Chicago defense led by All-Pro linebacker Khalil Mack, they’ll happily welcome back all the offensive line help they can get. But in the secondary, look for a team effort to replace the productivity of their two starting corners.
