The Green Bay Packers have released their first injury report as they prepare to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. Four players were listed as non-participants at Wednesday’s practice, including a couple of key offensive playmakers.

Running back Aaron Jones did not practice after suffering a hamstring injury in Sunday’s win against the Chicago Bears. Receiver Christian Watson, who missed the season opener with a hamstring injury, joined him on the sidelines.

On the defensive side, linebacker Quay Walker missed practice after being put in the concussion protocol. He suffered the injury while returning an interception 37 yards for a touchdown on Sunday. Additionally, offensive tackle David Bakhtiari was listed under “veteran rest” as he heals up a knee injury.

That’s quite a few key players banged up to start off the week for the Packers, and they’ll hope at least a couple can make progress throughout the week. Jones was spectacular on Sunday to finish with 41 yards rushing and a touchdown to go along with two catches for 86 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown reception.

Expect AJ Dillon to lead the backfield if Jones is unable to go.

Elsewhere on the Packers injury report, three players were limited Wednesday. They include receiver Romeo Doubs (hamstring), linebacker Rashan Gary (knee) and offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins (knee). All three players were dealing with the injuries heading into Week 1, but managed to play anyway.

Lastly on the Packers injury report, safety Anthony Johnson Jr. (knee) was listed as a full participant. Kickoff between Green Bay and Atlanta is set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Aaron Jones gives injury update ahead of Packers vs. Falcons

Jones offered some insight on how he was feeling in the moments after Sunday’s win vs. the Bears. He left in the third quarter after suffering the hamstring injury, but told reporters he felt “great” postgame.

“Just a little bite,” Jones said. “Not a pull. I’ve pulled my hamstring before, so I didn’t really feel a pull. Just a little bite. Thanks for (coach Matt) LaFleur for always looking out for me and my best interest.”

That seems to indicate Jones expects to play this week, unless something has changed since he made those comments. The fact he was held out of practice is concerning, so it’s at least worth monitoring whether he can go on Thursday or Friday.
