In the Cardinal’s first game of the NCAA Tournament, Norfolk State was woefully outmatched and mustered just 50 total points as Stanford cruised to an easy 79-50 victory to set up the round two game. Meanwhile, Iowa State included more fireworks in their win, cashing in with 93 points while beating Maryland by a touchdown, thanks in large part to 40 points from freshman star Audi Crooks (more on her later).

Ahead of this matchup Sunday evening to cap off the day of women’s hoops, take a look at how to tune in and what the oddsmakers think of the game.

Odds for Stanford vs. Iowa State

Via DraftKings

Point spread: Stanford -13.5 points
Money line: Stanford (-1200), Iowa State (+750)
Over/under: 141.5 total points

Well, the 2021 national champions and No. 2 seeds are favored here, and by a pretty hefty amount considering Stanford is projected to win by more than a dozen against this dangerous Iowa State team and holds a -1200 mark on the money line with ISU at +750 — massive long shots to pull of the upset.

But in terms of how Iowa State gets the win, it likely comes down to their freshman star down low. Audi Crooks is 6’3 and a force to be reckoned with in the paint, especially as a scorer, averaging north of 20 points per game. But recently, her production has been even stronger.

Crooks is averaging 27 points and 9.2 rebounds per game over her last five, including a monstrous 40-point, 12-rebound outing in round one to pull the Cyclones past Maryland. Achieving those numbers against Cardinal front-court stars Cameron Brink and Kiki Iriafen.

Either way, folks are in for a war in the paint with those sorts of players going at it Sunday evening with a spot in the Sweet 16 at stake.
