Maryland started things off in a big way on Friday, stunning No. 1 seed Ohio State 82-61 in the first quarterfinal game. Nebraska then followed suit by defeating No. 4 seed Michigan State, which set up a rematch of a New Year’s Eve. In that game, the Cornhuskers came away with the 87-81 win over the Terrapins as the conference schedule got underway. This time around, though, there’s a conference championship game appearance on the line.

Odds for Maryland vs. Nebraska

Maryland is a 2.5-point favorite over Nebraska in the matchup, according to FanDuel, and the over-under is set at 144.5. The winner of the game will lock up a spot in Sunday’s Big Ten tournament championship game. Maryland last made the title game in 2021 to cap off back-to-back titles, and Nebraska’s last appearance came in a 2014 victory.

Nebraska enters Saturday’s semifinal with a 21-10 overall record and came in as the tournament’s No. 5 seed after an 11-7 record in conference play. Maryland was the No. 8 seed with a 9-9 record in Big Ten action, and that made the Terps’ upset victory over Ohio State even more surprising as they improved to 19-12 overall on the season.

Nebraska vs. Maryland will be the first of two semifinal games on Saturday, which will wrap up with Iowa vs. Michigan shortly after. The winners will advance to the championship, set for Sunday at noon ET with an NCAA Tournament bid on the line.
