Indianapolis Colts tight end Drew Ogletree has been arrested in Hendricks County on multiple charges of domestic battery.

Ogletree is facing two felony charges. According to the Avon Police Department, those charges are for domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury.

The Indianapolis Colts were made aware of and released a statement on the charges that Drew Ogletree is facing.

“We are aware of the disturbing allegations involving Drew Ogletree,” the statement read. “The team takes these matters seriously. We have notified the NFL and are in the process of gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this time.”

The Avon Police Department says that officers were dispatched on December 26th to a residence when violence between two adults was reported. They then detained Drew Ogletree at the scene of the incident. The victim at the scene needed to be transported to an area hospital to be assessed for their injuries.

According to the affidavit, Ogletree body slammed the victim into the ground. Meanwhile, court documents indicate that he told police the victim tried to smack him before he pushed them to the ground. That smack was later confirmed by the victim. Reports also indicate the dispute started when the victim broke Ogletree’s phone.

On December 28th, the Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant for Ogletree’s arrest. He turned himself in the next day. The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that he is being held without bond.

This season, Drew Ogletree has played in 12 games, catching nine passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns. This is his first NFL season playing after missing 2022 with a torn ACL. He is not currently listed on the team’s online roster.

The Colts have three other tight ends on the roster. They are Will Mallory, Kylen Granson, and Mo Alie-Cox. Of the three, Granson has been the biggest factor in the passing attack, though they’ve all had their mark on the season for Indianapolis.

This season, Indianapolis is 8-7 and right in the hunt for the AFC South. In fact, the Colts are tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans for first in the division. Even if they don’t win the division, the Colts also have a shot at making it to the playoffs through the Wild Card in a highly competitive AFC.
