Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is reportedly day-to-day with a knee injury leading up to a Thursday Night Matchup against the Saints this week. Lawrence was unable to finish his squad’s 37-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon after suffering the injury.

“Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence has an MRI on his knee, but he’s currently described as day-to-day, source said,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared Monday. “The belief is no major injury for Lawrence, who finished the game. It’s a quick turnaround for Thursday, but the hope is he’s OK for it.”

Despite the injury to Lawrence, the Jaguars came out on top over the Colts who were quarterbacked by former Jacksonville starter Gardner Minshew. The team is now 4-2 and sitting atop the AFC South.

The former first-rounder out of Clemson went 20-for-30 for 181 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 6. He also took three sacks, bringing his 2023 total up to 16. Last week, against the Bills, he posted a season-high 317 yards with one touchdown and no turnovers.

Through six games, Lawrence has 1,439 passing yards with seven touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also added another 147 rushing yards on 33 carries. He’s 10th amongst the league’s top quarterbacks in total passing yardage so far this season.

The Jaguars have a quick turnaround this week so they need Lawrence to bounce back fast. The third-year QB has yet to miss a start for Jacksonville. On Thursday night, they’ll face the Saints on the road in New Orleans. The Saints are 3-3 and fresh off of a close loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday, 20-13.

Jaguars rookie TE makes first career TD catch

The Jacksonville Jaguars entered their Week 6 matchup with momentum after winning two weeks in a row on the road in London. Leading the Colts 24-7 late in the third quarter, quarterback Trevor Lawrence found rookie tight end Brenton Strange for the former Penn State star’s first career touchdown.

The Indianapolis defense left Strange unguarded as he broke off of the offensive line and ran to the front right of the endzone for an easy snag and score. He had just two catches for seven yards entering the Sunday afternoon matchup against the Jaguars’ divisional rivals.

On top of the touchdown catch, the young tight end also had another reception versus the Colts for 17 yards.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Strange with the No. 61 overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
