Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey isn’t happy with ESPN insider Adam Schefter. The Miami star called out the reporter over news about Ramsey’s status heading into Sunday’s game.

Schefter reported that Miami plans for Ramsey to make his return in Sunday’s game against the Patriots. The cornerback didn’t necessarily dispute the reports, but took issue with the report.

“So this is why I just got a crazy amount of texts,” Ramsey wrote on X. “Well, this is news to me … mfs don’t care about being right, they care about being first in today’s media. That’s said.”

Ramsey followed that up with another post regarding his status.

“Full transparency, there’s a CHANCE that I can play this Sunday, but that decision genuinely isn’t made yet so that is news to me just like it is to y’all lol,” he said. “I have to go through a whole process to feel GREAT enough to play. I won’t play if I feel any less than GREAT.”

Ramsey has not yet played in the 2023 season. He was acquired by the Dolphins via an offseason trade with the Rams.

Jalen Ramsey clarifies stance with Adam Schefter

Although Ramsey’s initial tweet appeared to be a little frustrated with Schefter’s report, the cornerback suggests that he’s not too made with the insider.

In another tweet, Ramsey said, “I’m an (Adam Schefter) fan btw, so not mad at him at all for doing his job. I just didn’t know.”

Ramsey underwent surgery on a knee injury months ago and looks to return to the field soon. Will it be this Sunday against the Patriots? Apparently even the cornerback is unsure.

Ramsey is a six-time Pro Bowl selection and was a member of a Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI. When the Dolphins acquired the former Florida State star, the hope was that he’d help lockdown the secondary for a deeper playoff run.

So far, Miami hasn’t been able to put the star cornerback on the field. And when he does return, there will probably be some rust he needs to kick off, as well. But if he’s at full strength near the end of the season, the Dolphins defense would get a huge boost.

In his career, Ramsey has racked up 452 tackles, 92 passes defended and 19 interceptions. The cornerback has also earned three first-team All-Pro honors in his eight NFL seasons.
