Jameson Williams has one thought regarding the Detroit Lions trade of Jeff Okudah, and it has to do with a familiar digit.

The franchise sent the former third overall pick from the 2020 NFL Draft, who was also a Unanimous All-American at Ohio State, to the Atlanta Falcons, as he’s struggled with injuries throughout his time in Detroit. In exchange for Okudah, the Lions will be receiving a fifth round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, per Tom Pelissero.

Williams wasn’t Okudah’s teammate for long, so he’s not hurting too much over the news. Instead, he simply is looking to change his jersey number to Okudah’s former No. 1 — which is seemingly now available with the former Buckeyes defensive back shipped to the Falcons.

“I need that uno back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLZ,” tweeted Williams, after the news broke.

Of course, No. 1 is the number that Williams made his name rocking, as many remember him galloping to the end-zone, scoring touchdown after touchdown at Alabama while wearing it.

During his rookie season, Williams wore No. 9 due to No. 1 being taken by Okudah, but that road block has seemingly fixed itself for the young Lions wide receiver.

Fans of Williams may not want to hear it, as many bought his No. 9 uniform last season. While the wide receiver is sorry about the situation, he’s not letting that stop him from his pursuit of No. 1.

“Im sorry for everybody who got that jersey but i need that uno man (crying-face emoji; face-palm emoji),” tweeted Williams.

Last season, Williams was severely hampered by the knee injury he suffered in his final game with the Crimson Tide, but he still made his impact felt in Detroit. The star wide receiver only caught one pass on the season, but that one pass was a 41-yard touchdown scamper, proving he can still burn defenses moving forward.

Alas, Williams is willing to go to great lengths for the number as well, when told he should shadow box for it in the replies, he said he’ll box whoever wants to stop him from changing his number. The man is serious!

“We can box frl whenever want it (laughing-face emoji),” tweeted Williams.

The future is bright for Jameson Williams, but it’s evident he sees his future rocking No. 1 instead of No. 9. Time will tell if the Lions honor his wish, but it would be sweet to see the star wide receiver wearing his number in Detroit.
