Jason Kelce calls for Bills DT Jordan Phillips to be fined over 'purposely' trying to hurt Cam Jurgens
The Eagles and Bills played in one of the best games the NFL will have all season on Sunday. However, even though Philadelphia came out on the winning side, star center Jason Kelce wasn’t happy with how part of the game went.
Jason Kelce says that Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips was playing dirty and tried to intentionally hurt offensive lineman Cam Jurgens. In particular, he called out how Phillips jumped offside when the Eagles were preparing to sneak the ball.
“I think the one play was a quarterback sneak,” Jason Kelce told WIP. “And I think teams are really trying to stop that play. They talk about it all week. I’m sure they label it as some type of level of toughness to stop the play.”
“I thought it was bullsh*t at the time, I really did, and I said so to the official on the field. I said, ‘Listen, I’ve been running that play a lot of years. I have seen people jump offsides.’ He made zero effort to stop after he jumped offsides. He purposefully tried to hurt Cam Jurgens and I thought it should have been a personal foul and I think he should be fined for that play.”
After the game, both Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips said that Philadelphia fans crossed a line with how they were interacting with players. That included making threats and video showed Phillips among others confronting those fans.
“I’m not gonna comment on the rest of the game,” Kelce said. “There were things happening with the fans. I don’t know what happened that got him that fired up.”
The play that Jason Kelce wanted a personal foul on can be seen in a couple of different ways, depending on your perspective. It could be a hard offsides, or it could be an over the top hit outside of a play. However, as some fans pointed out on social media, Phillips was consistently pushing boundaries in this game.
Ultimately, Jason Kelce still felt the offsides play was over the line and he also pointed to how the play was officiated making things worse.
“But I thought that play in particular was absolutely a disgrace that the NFL should not allow. I really do and I don’t know Jordan Phillips. He may be the best guy in the world, but that, in my opinion, the NFL needs to do something about because that shouldn’t be allowed in this game at this level,” Kelce said.
“I thought the officials did not do a good job officiating that play. I really didn’t. That was so clearly not an offsides. That was a personal foul and it should’ve been stipulated right from that moment. And because they didn’t call that, you saw things happen throughout the rest of the game.”

Perhaps in an attempt to prove Taylor Swift isn’t the only one who can sing, Travis Kelce teamed up with his brother Jason Kelce to record and release a single along Christmas song on the ‘A Philly Special Christmas’ album.
The song they recorded is “Fairytale of New York” by The Pogues. It deals with a couple in a dysfunctional relationship around Christmas. The Kelce brothers changed that up a little, making it about brothers and the city of Philadelphia.
“It’s like two people fighting,” Jason told Travis. “But they really love each other. It kind of works really good for our relationship. I think it could be the relationship of two brothers, how much you’re wrapped up in your family’s lives and how that impacts where you end up in life.”
This is the second Christmas album the Eagles offensive line has released. Alongside, Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, Jason Kelce clearly had fun making the album.
