Javonte Williams says he is 'ready to go' after knee injury
Bronco RB Javonte Williams is working his way back to full strength after tearing his ACL just four games into last season. With plenty of rehab behind him, though, it sounds like Denver will have one of their best backs back in the fold by the time the next season kicks off.
Williams told ESPN that he should be ready to go for training camp. It will all come down to how he and the franchise evaluates his feel for it upon his return but, at the moment, that’s the time frame that all sides are shooting for.
“I mean, that’s the plan. I feel like I’m ready to go,” said Williams.
“It’s just all about the evaluation, how the Broncos feel about it,” Williams said. “Just seeing how I feel, moving, just trying to get my speed back to normal. Things like that.”
Williams impressed as a rookie in the NFL with his 246 touches in his 17 games. He totaled 1,219 yards from scrimmage with seven total touchdowns. A majority of that production came on the ground with his 903 rushing yards and four scores.
Then, in 2022, he was one pace to post a similar stat line after his first four games. In Denver’s 2-2 start, Williams didn’t score but did amass 280 scrimmage yards (204 rushing, 76 receiving) off of 63 touches (47 rushes, 16 catches).
However, it was in that fourth game versus Las Vegas where his season came to an abrupt end.
Now, Williams is aiming, the best that he can, to be back in time for training camp. It’ll then be all about keeping an eye on himself while also integrating on a team that will be led by his third different head coach as a pro.
Chiefs superfan ‘Chiefsaholic’ arrested in California
The hunt is over. “Chiefsaholic,” the Kansas City Chiefs superfan who allegedly robbed a bank in Oklahoma in December 200, has been arrested. FBI Kansas City provided an update on Monday.
Xaviar Babudar, better known by his nickname “Chiefsaholic” was arrest on Friday in California.
“Xaviar Babudar, ‘ChiefsAholic’ was arrested on Friday and has been charged in federal court, thanks to an FBI Kansas City investigation,” the tweet said. “Babudar has been charged with bank theft and transporting stolen property across state lines.”
