Former Michigan State star Jayden Reed has been impressing in his first fall camp with the Green Bay Packers. He was a dynamic receiver for the Spartans and he has continued to impress in the NFL. Check out this 19-yard touchdown catch he hauled in against the New England Patriots on Saturday night.

Once he scored the touchdown, Reed made headlines by performing his first Lambeau leap as a Green Bay Packer. Check that out below.

The Green Bay Packers drafted former Michigan State star Jayden Reed with the No. 50 overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Packers needed to re-tool on offense, and selected Reed in the second round.

After an impressive 2021 campaign with the Spartans, Reed decided to return to the team for his senior season. In hindsight, given how the year finished for both he and the Spartans, the Naperville, IL, native might have been better served entering the draft last season. Still, because of his decision, the Packers might have snagged one of the bigger steals in the 2023 NFL Draft.

In 2021, Reed had a remarkable year with 59 receptions, 1026 yards receiving, and 10 touchdowns. He also had an impressive average of 17.4 yards per catch. On the ground, he recorded seven carries for 34 yards and one touchdown. And as a returner that year, Reed had 28 total returns for 614 yards and two touchdowns. He also earned first team All-American honors that year. Last season that was a noticeable drop-off in Reed’s production. In 2022, he would have 55 catches for 363 yards and five touchdowns, to go along with four rushing attempts and 11 yards. As a returner, he would only have 14 returns for just 134 yards on the season.

As a freshman in 2018, while playing for Western Michigan, Reed earned freshman All-American honors after hauling in 56 catches for 797 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Jayden Reed was a dynamic all-purpose player in college

In just three seasons in 31 games with the Spartans, Reed finished his MSU career among the school’s all-time leaders in receptions (sixth with 147), touchdown catches (tied for seventh with 18) and receiving yards (12th with 2,069).

During his 44-game career in college football, Reed established himself as one of the game’s most dynamic all-purpose threats, racking up 4,341 career all-purpose yards (2,866 receiving yards, 581 punt return yards, 841 kick return yards, and 53 rushing yards).
