An ongoing feud between New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel appears to be escalating after some recent comments made by Rodgers on the Pat McAfee Show.

Rogers intimated that Jimmy Kimmel will appear on a list tied to the Jeffrey Epstein case, prompting a quick response from Kimmel and the threat of legal action, presumably over alleged defamation and/or slander.

Rodgers was on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday when he began hinting about the Epstein list.

Co-host AJ Hawk jumped in and asked point blank: “This have something to do with the Epstein list that came out?”

Aaron Rodgers didn’t hesitate.

“That’s supposed to be coming out soon,” he said. “That’s supposed to be coming out soon. There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping that doesn’t come out.”

Kimmel’s response was quick and punchy, posted to Twitter on Wednesday evening.

“Dear Aasshole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality,” Kimmel wrote. “Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court.”

Rodgers was smiling while on the Pat McAfee Show and even noted that he would have to celebrate if the purported list becomes public.

“I’ll tell you what, if that list comes out I definitely will be popping some sort of bottle,” Rodgers said.

Aaron Rodgers is on the mend from an Achilles injury that has sidelined him for the 2023 season. He is working his way back to health, though his future remains a bit unclear.

An NFL great, Rodgers has won a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP title. Four times he has been named the NFL’s MVP. He’s also a four-time first-team All-Pro and a one-time second-team All-Pro, while he has made 10 Pro Bowls in his career.

Rogers was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, too.

Lately, though, he’s drawn considerably more headlines for his actions off the field than on them, with Kimmel’s latest salvo the most recent in a series of back-and-forth spats.
