Joel Klatt revealed what makes Ladd McConkey an attractive player for NFL teams. On The Joel Klatt Show, Klatt explained the traits the former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver brings to the next level.

“I’m a big fan of Ladd McConkey,” Klatt began. “His route-running ability is underappreciated. Maybe it’s not, but Ladd McConkey gets open and he’s reliable catching the football. To me, those are two traits that are highly valuable. In a lot of ways when they did not have [Brock] Bowers after the injury, the entire offense, at least the passing game, kind of went through Ladd McConkey.”

Klatt went on to say McConkey is ranked No. 42 on his top 50 players in the 2024 draft list. He is right in front of former Georgia Bulldogs cornerback Kamari Lassiter who is ranked No. 43.

Is Ladd McConkey heading to Buffalo?

The question for McConkey is which team will draft him. On the Up and Adams show, McConkey told host Kay Adams he has met with the Buffalo Bills. That’s interesting considering the Bills just traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.

“I’ve met with them a couple times,” he said. “I like their organization, so let’s go.”

McConkey could fill the void left by Diggs. The 22-year-old registered 119 receptions for 1,687 yards and 14 touchdowns in three seasons at Georgia. He was named the All-SEC Second Team in 2022 and helped the Bulldogs back-to-back national championships.

During Georgia’s Pro Day in March, head coach Kirby Smart gave McConkey his flowers. “Just starting from the time we offered him to now, he’s ascended and aspired to be great,” Smart said, per Dawgs HQ. “No one works harder than Ladd McConkey. Nobody on our team would say there’s a better teammate than Ladd McConkey. I don’t know that he’s ever said a negative word about anybody. He’s just such a good kid, such a hard person to find. He’s a great football player on top of that.”

After his Pro Day workout, McConkey talked about being able to play all over the field. “I think I’m a guy that can kind of play anywhere and get the job done at all positions,” he said. “I feel like I’m a great route runner, can kind of find that hole if they’re running zone. Really just a guy that teams can move all around the field and play every down and get the job done.”
