Josh Allen‘s arm was made for the spotlight. The only issue is the rest of his body doesn’t like the attention.

The five-year NFL veteran is already being discussed in Hall of Fame talks. Allen has already amassed 1,604 completions, 18,397 yards and 138 passing touchdowns in his short career. While he enjoys the accolades, the fame that comes with it can be exhausting.

This harsh reality hit Allen the hardest at his sister’s wedding. The 27-year-old QB recently opened up on the uncomfortable experience on the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast.

“I was like, ‘It’s her day.’ And, I felt like I was getting bombarded by people at her wedding, which I knew some of them I didn’t know all that well,” Allen said. “She had a she had a large wedding. And I felt so bad because I felt like it was distracting for her. It was like, everybody’s here for her. I was getting a lot of attention from people that I grew up around, and I knew and like it became a little bit too much and I was like, ‘I need to get out here.'”

Allen didn’t have a glamorous childhood. The Wyoming Cowboys star grew up on a 3,000-acre cotton farm near near Firebaugh, Calif., a small town about 40 miles west of Fresno, Calif. Allen was taught hard work from an early age. He regularly labored on the family farm and at his mother’s local restaurant.

Colleges even overlooked the shy prospect from the country side. Allen wanted a scholarship from Fresno State because the college was so close to his hometown. The Bulldogs’ head coach at the time, Tim DeRuyter, opted not to offer Allen.

Although the young farm boy grew up to have the last laugh, his situation isn’t always perfect.

“I’m the guy that I wanted to be as a kid, like the professional quarterback,” Allen said. “I didn’t really understand maybe what came along with it all that all that much. But again, I made my bed, if that’s what I got to do.”

Bills fans are certainly happy Allen made his bed the way he did. Seemingly every season the Bills are in the hunt for the Super Bowl. However, they’re yet to make it with Allen at the helm, coming closest in 2020, when the star QB led them to the AFC Championship.

Allen plans on taking his team further this season. Watch the Bills jump start their season on Sept. 11, as they take on the New York Jets.
